Pre-Sales Engineer

As a pre-sales engineer my role is to be a technical ambassador for both Havok products and customer support services. I lead customers through the technical evaluation process, ensuring that they have a world-class experience when using Havok software. My duties range from writing low-level integration code on site with customers, to preparing sales material and presenting products and software features the the best games companies in the world.
Field Engineer

September 2005 - March 2008
As a field engineer my role was to deliver Havok’s world-class customer support. With an in-depth knowledge of all areas of the Havok C++ SDK, I worked both directly on Havok’s code and that of our customers through Europe. I have learned a lot about shipping robust code and APIs to with the highest of standards of performance, correctness and elegance.
Developer Support Engineer

July 2003 - August 2004
My role was to provide direct engineering support to European game developers. I provided PlayStation specific technical training to developers, and created sample code to demonstrate best practices for developers.

Relevant College Projects
Echo and Bounce - Final Year Project
I developed a system to generate real-time physically-based sound. The project uses meshes with multiple levels of details which change in real time. You can read more about it on the project website.
British Computer Society Programming Competition
I have represented Trinity College annually since 2003. This year our team won the Bristol heat, and we will be competing in the finals in London in April 2005. The competition challenges teams of professionals, academics or students to program solutions to 6 technical problems within a four-hour time limit.
Computer Skills
Excellent programming skills at high and low levels. Exceptionally strong C and C++ competency, and good Java programming skills. Proficiency in many assembly and scripting languages. Experienced in multiplatform software development on Windows, Unix, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable and Xbox 360, using Visual Studio, CodeWarrior, Eclipse and the GNU tools.
